Veteran of the Month: Rodger Lee Sellers
The Veteran of the Month is an award presented to a veteran chosen by members of the Johnson County Senior Center. The chosen veteran is recognized during the Veterans' Cafe (last Wednesday of each month) and awarded a plaque paid for by Johnson County Bank.
Born October 2, 1946, in Milwaukee, WI. Served in the Army from 1967 -1970 and was in boot camp at Fort Campbell, Ky. Served in Korea on a Nike Missile sight. He and his wife, Reda, have lived here in Mountain City since May 2020. They joined the senior center when first moving to TN. They've joined right in to volunteer and been a part of our senior center family ever since. We are blessed to have them.

Volunteer of the Month: Jo Caraway
Each month, the center honors a special volunteer (or volunteering couple) nominated by members of the Johnson County Senior Center for their service.
Jo has volunteered as our Silver Sneakers Instructor for approximately 20 years. She is a reading buddy for the senior center and goes to the schools to read for the PreK students. Jo is a retired teacher, loved teaching K-3rd grade for many years. She is such an asset to our center. We are truly blessed to have her volunteering with us.
